Gold South African Krugerrand 1-oz
The 1 oz Gold Krugerrand, first minted in 1967 as the world's original modern bullion coin, is struck by South Africa's Rand Refinery in 22-karat (.9167) gold. Though alloyed with copper for durability, it contains one full troy ounce of pure gold (33.93 g gross). The obverse portrays Paul Kruger; the reverse a springbok antelope. It bears no face value by design. As a recognized sovereign bullion coin, it is generally IRA-eligible.
